Transition Professionals is proud to announce the receipt of the NJLEAD award from the New Jersey Department of Corrections. Authorized by the Office of Community Engagement and Reintegration Initiatives (CERI) at the DOC, this grant funding is awarded to trusted local community-based organizations currently “doing the work” to support returning citizens in need of wrap-around supportive services. The opportunity allows for a tailored reentry support approach as determined by the individual needs of each person on their way back home. A recent meeting in Trenton allowed Transition Professionals representation by Amanda Littlehale (case manager) and Karen Brocklehurst (assistant director) to meet, discuss and develop the framework for agency collaboration with other grantees throughout the State. This new endeavor for Transition Professionals means working directly with the prison facilities throughout New Jersey and helping facilitate the reentry process for those being released soon.
